Раздел, о котором идёт речь, — это раздел третий (section 3) Закона о психическом здоровье (the Mental Health Act), который разрешал удерживать человека в доме умалишённых против его воли. Таким образом, to section someone значит использовать право, данное этим законом, и помещать кого-либо в сумасшедший дом.
